Topic: How to determine the Screen Mesh Count or Halftone Line Screen
When printing halftones it is important that the halftone line screen (also referred to as dpi, lpi or frequency) and mesh counts are coordinated. There is a mathematical rule to follow.
The Screen MESH Count should be 5x the chosen Halftone Line Screen
Divide the Screen Mesh Count by 5 to determine the Halftone Line Screen that should be used.
With a Halftone Line Screen of 45 you would select a mesh count of 230 (which is the closest mesh (45 x 5 = 225)
Mesh Counts are written in US measurements and European. Search online for US and Metric conversion.
